Dear Potential LWV Trained Moderator,

The League of Women Voters would like to invite you to our February 2024 Moderator Training being held at The Collington Game Room on Saturday, February 3rd. This training will consist of covering the primary skills needed to effectively moderate a political Candidates’ Forum to include in Q&A and closings. 

Participants will be trained how to conduct candidates’ forums and issues forums in the neutral style adopted and used by the League of Women Voters for several decades. There will be a variety of skills acquired in this course that will be taught by seasoned moderators who will instruct participants how to use grids to organize questions, facilitate delivery, ask probing issue-specific questions to ensure maximum subject matter coverage; as well as the dynamics of timing opening and closing statements.  The course uses interactive scenarios and role plays to approximate real life forum obstacles and  how to professionally navigate around them.

Moderator training begins at 11:30AM - 1pm.
